Warm Oven Bakes Editorial Team
Who we are
Warm Oven Bakes is written by a small, independent editorial team. Every article on the site is published under the name "Warm Oven Bakes Editorial Team" rather than under individual bylines. We cover home baking: cookies, breads, cakes, pies and holiday treats, written for home kitchens with standard equipment. We don't publish invented names, photos, job titles or credentials, and we don't claim professional qualifications we don't have. We're not a professional test kitchen. Recipes follow standard, well-tested baking ratios and methods, with oven temperatures and times checked against reliable baking references. You can read more about the site on our About page.
How we research
We start from questions readers commonly ask and build each article from sources we can link to. Depending on the topic, these include food safety guidance from the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service, the FDA and the CDC (for example safe internal temperatures and raw flour and egg handling), university extension services such as Colorado State University Extension for high-altitude baking, and standard baking ratios and methods from established baking references. We use manufacturers' specifications and product pages to check pan sizes, materials and capacities, and where it helps we look at recurring patterns in public reader and customer reviews, such as common sizing or durability comments. We use AI writing tools to help with research and first drafts; every article is then reviewed and edited by the team, and facts are checked against the linked sources before it is published. Our Editorial Policy explains this process in more detail.
How we choose products
We don't run a testing lab, and we don't claim to have tested products hands-on unless an article clearly says so. Instead, our guides explain what to look for, and product links usually go to Amazon search results for a product type rather than to a single listing, so you can compare current options, prices and reviews yourself. When we suggest a type of product, we look at:
- The tool or ingredient is genuinely needed for the recipe, or clearly makes it easier for a home baker.
- Common sizes and materials that fit standard home ovens and recipes.
- Good value options rather than only premium brands.
- Clear care, cleaning and food-safety information from the maker.
We don't accept payment to include a product, and brands don't review our articles before they are published.
How we keep articles up to date
We review articles periodically, and sooner when a source we rely on changes, for example when official guidance is updated or a product is discontinued. Each article shows an "Updated" date at the top; it changes when we make a meaningful edit to the content, not just when the page is rebuilt.
Corrections
If you spot a mistake or something out of date, please contact us with the page address and what looks wrong. We check every report, fix confirmed errors and update the article's date.
